| I am going to be loosely organizing a meeting of all interested parties to discuss the state of ultimate in Nebraska. My idea for a goal would be simply to increase the awareness and organization, with an endpoint of more games/tournaments/players. I will be providing pizza at Sam and Louis on Cass street and 76th. I would like to see at least one person from each group (UNO, UNL, Memorial Folks, Dill Folks, High School groups) so that we can get diverse input. This is by no means going to be a meeting to elect rulers or make changes, simply a way to get together and drink beer/soda and figure out how we can work together to get games everyday. All input is welcome in this thread... positive or negative. Thanks all and see ya soon! |

The date and time are TBA. I was thinking a weekday evening. The place will be at Sam and Louis on 76th and Cass street. If there seems to be a day of the week or time that people would prefer we can make it that. Dave Razidlo
PS I was thinking of getting this done in the next few weeks as the weather is great to get some serious games (2 times a week) being played.

| I saw the post about the meeting for Nebraska Ultimate and I would be very interested in attending. Let me know when and where and I'll be there. I think I would be classified as a Memorial Park guy too. |

With some discussion at the game today we thought a good day would be the Wed. March 8th at 6PM at Sam and Louis New York Pizza on 78th and Cass (I think, google map it). We had about 16 people at Memorial today so I personally look forward to a great season (games 3 days a week!).
Not sure how this thing will go. If someone who has actually attended a "meeting" or is actively organizing a team (UNO for example) could show up perhaps they can make things go smoothly. I will be in charge of drinking a pitcher.
Also, I know there are some successful ultimate organizations out there, so if we could figure out how they were able to organize leagues, pickup, fields, tournaments, perhaps we could just copy them.
I, and you all as well, would just like to see games and tournaments happen in Omaha, all the time.
I will be providing pizza, your on your own for drinks.
Please reply to this post with ideas.

- What pickup and private games are going on in Omaha?
- Are there any good fields people know of for pickup besides memorial, dill, and elmwood?
- Are there any Fields we could play at that could hold enough games for a tournament?
- are there any Fields where we could bring food/beer?
- what is the status of a league?
- Should we meet on a semi-regular basis
- Wed evening pickup game starting daylight savings?
- How can we increase the number of players/games in Omaha?
- How and should we publicize?
- What should be our on line presence?
- How could we better coordinate games using wiki or this website?
- How can we get more people to use this website?
There is my 5 minutes of work. See you all tomorrow! |

Hey everyone, This is Chris from the MN-UFO group. I wasn't checking the site much this winter, but now that MN is starting up UFO for a second "season" I just thought I would share some ideas as far as recruiting.
First, I believe that the best way to recruit is to set up publicity in Omaha area schools.
I know that MN-UFO is growing and we have somewhere around 10-15 regulars, hopefully more this second season.
I think that if more groups like MN-UFO were to be set up at other schools, we could definately get something going. This week I am going to push recruiting for MN-UFO over the announcements at the school, and by using posters. If there is any way to have someone, or a group of people from some other Omaha schools start an Ultimate club of somekind, that would be the best way to go.
Also, It sounds like some of you organized a meeting to talk about issues like this, and I was wondering if anyone could fill me in on the details. I would like to be a part of helping the Omaha Ultimate scene grow.

Hey Chris,
I posted most of the results of the "meeting" as "results" threads. As far as high school recruiting I completely agree. However, I have no idea how we could stimulate interest at other schools. May have to come from other high school students as I don't think Tank hanging around high schools is something anyone wants.
